Prince Albert Visits Thailand

On June 12, Prince Albert, II of Monaco arrived in Thailand to attend the official ceremonies marking the 60th birthday of the accession to the throne of King Bhumibol Adulyadej Rama IX.Prince Albert, II toot part in a great dinner offered by the King Rama IX in the honor of the royal personalities that came from all over the world. Monte-Carlo Television Festival Gets Underway

Prince Albert, II of Monaco Speaks Before the National Council

Prince Albert, II of Monaco spoke before the National Council, on Friday, June 23.  Prince Albert discussed the efforts of the Pricipality to preserve the growth and the daily quality of the life of the country.  But the main part of his speech was devoted to his political vision, a topic which he never extensively addressed before. Monaco Takes New York

Monaco Government Tourist Office began the cultural year in 2006 with its fourth annual “Monaco Takes New York” celebration.  The celebration is likely to give a boost to Monaco’s travel industry, about 50% of which consists of visitors from the Unites States.

The 2006 Monaco Grand Prix

The First Monaco Grand Prix was held on April 14, 1929.  Since then, Grand Prix has become one of the most notable events in Monaco, with several hundred thousand people decending on tiny Monaco to view the event which takes place on the streets of the Principality.  This year, the Grand Prix took place on May 28th, and 24 year old Fernando Alonso became the winner of the 2006 Grand Prix while in the driverseat of a French made Renault Formula 1 race car.Â
