Road safety: the case of the Monegasques drivers

According to the police chief, Claude de Trianon, head of the division of urban police Monegasque force, with impunity supposed by much, of cars registered in Monaco on the French territory, the borders are not an obstacle. Indeed, no offence of circulation can in theory remain unpunished. In the event of excess speed of Monegasques drivers in France, two possibilities. The Monegasques are challenged immediately and pay a consignment. Without interpellation, the officers of French public ministry seize the Public Prosecutor’s room of Monaco which transmits to the Police of the principality. In all the cases, no point is withdrawn to them, because their driving license does not count any.   

A Convention Franco-Monegasque of 1980 concerning the tax co-operation also permits the French Treasury to seize its counterparts in the Principality to regulate the fines. A co-operation which is reciprocal for the French drivers who do not regulate their fines delivered on the territory of the Principality of Monaco.
