“Ô Jerusalem” at Grimaldi Forum on September 19, 2006

On 19 September, under the patronage of HSH the Sovereign Prince, the Hebrew University of Jerusalm adds its voice to the call for peace in the Middle East and sends out a message for Jews and Arabs to live in harmony in this troubled part of our world, through a preview screening of the feature film O Jerusalem attended by the team that made it.  The film directed by Elie Chouraqui stars Ian Holm and Patrick Bruel in an adaptation of the book of the same title written in 1972 by Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins, the subject of which refers explicitly to the Israel-Palestine conflict. It has sold over 20 million copies and is generally considered to be one of the most objective and impartial publications throwing light on this subject. This event instigated by the University considered the most important platform for exchanges in the Middle East is being set up projects for co-operation between young Jews and Arabs.
