Signing of two new collective agreements for concierges & caretakers and janitors

Two new collective agreements were signed on Monday 23rd October 2006 in the briefing room of the Ministry of State, in the presence of Denis Ravera, Government Counselor for Social Affairs and Health, Eric Bessi, Director of Labor and Patricia Novaretti, Assistant Director of Labor. Fourteen months of negotiating were needed for management and labor to come to an agreement on the two new texts, which after their extension, will provide new regulations for resident concierges, caretakers and janitors. The conventions that regulated these professions up till now were in great need of restructuring, in order to take into account the specificities peculiar to these professions, such as those relating to caretakers in high-rise buildings, security officers and concierges in small buildings. The signatories have agreed to request the extension of these agreements to His Excellency the Minister of State within the next few days.
