Fête Nationale Monégasque 2006

York Regional Police join celebrations with Prince Albert II. The pipes and drums band of the York Regional Police from Ontario, Canada, are in Monaco. They are taking part in activities to celebrate Monaco’s National Day on November 19th which culminates this weekend. The band and four dancers’ delighted crowds yesterday as they marched from St Nicolas church in Fontvieille, through Fontvieille village to the commercial centre and into Monte Carlo, stopping periodically to perform for onlookers. The band will join Prince Albert II on the Rock on Sunday. On Saturday 18th, at 8pm firework will display in Port Hercule and at 10pm the Variety Show called “En Chair et en Noce” will be held in the Salle du Canton. On Sunday 19th at 10am, a Special Mass will be held in the Cathedral of Monaco, at 11.15am a presentation of medals by Prince Albert II will be held at the Palace, at 11.30am the Band of the Prince’s Carabiniers, and others will entertain in the square outside the palace, at 8pm: the Gala Evening will be held at the Salle Garnier with choirs of the Opéra de Monte Carlo and the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra. They will be performing “La Rondine” by Puccini. And at 9pm a Variety Show gala will be held in the Salle du Canton.
