New European rules : the Post in Monaco is also concerned
Two new European rules regarding the air and road security, will have repercussions on the Post letters and parcels deliveries deposited at the Post of Monaco. Firstly, the speed limitation of trucks over 3.5 tonnes on highways is now limited to 90 km/h instead of 110km/h previously. Secondly, all letters, because of security reasons, must be scanned before their transport by air. Because of these latest rules and constraints, the Post of Monaco has to adapt its mail box collections and this has already started. From now on, people living in Monaco are able to post their letters till 4.45pm only into the 5 main mail boxes which colour is now white instead of red. Regarding the collection for the others mail boxes into the Principality, time remains unchaged, i.e. 4.30pm. With the said new organization, the Monegasque Post purpose is to convey letters and parcels the same day.
