Coulthard fined over crash

A Monaco court has fined Formula One driver David Coulthard £330 for injuring a woman passenger when he crashed his Mercedes during a high-speed tour of the principality’s grand prix circuit in 1999. A judicial source said the Scot, a Monaco resident who was not in court for Tuesday’s hearing, had lost control of the car after it hit a wet patch. Coulthard, 35, was travelling at up to 93mph on the night of the accident in April 1999, weeks before that year’s grand prix.
