Primo Cup: the races opposite the Rocher of Monaco continue

For the second weekend in a row, 120 crew teams competed to win the XXXII Primo Cup regatta, organised by the Monaco Yacht Club, on Friday 9th, Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th February. This internationally renowned race dedicated to one design class boats is always an outstanding weekend of racing, particularly when the weather conditions are as good as they were last weekend. The large flock of immense white birds sailing around the bay of Monaco began on Friday at 1 p.m. To enjoy watching them without getting your feet wet, you simply needed to stroll along to the main sea wall or Saint Martin Gardens located higher up on the Rocher. Six series of races open to one design class boats such as the H22, Muum 30, Melges 24, First 40.7, Bénéteau 25 and Smeralda 888 were on the programme throughout the 3 days of racing. The 2007 edition of the Primo Cup- Crédit Suisse Trophy was marked by a record number of participants with 230 boats in all and over 1000 crew members of seventeen different nationalities, including a significant number of American sailors: 50 of them crossed the Atlantic to compete in this classic race organised in the bay of Monaco.
