New editor starts at Principality’s cable TV channel

Thierry Apparu, 38, has joined Monaco Info, the Principality’s cable television channel, as managing editor. A journalist since 1992, Mr. Apparu was a reporter for Radio Monte Carlo before being charged with setting up and developing Equipe TV’s office in Monaco from 1998 to 2002. From 2002, he was editor and presenter of ‘Demain c’est foot” for TMC (Télé Monte Carlo), collaborating with different TV and radio stations, and is also a correspondent for Associated Press. He is married with one child. Monaco Info is now available online, as the Centre de Presse (press centre) seeks to widen the station’s appeal and distribution outside the confines of the state. Surfers can view the previous five days of programmes and have access to an archive of programmes from the last three months. The channel keeps people updated on events, broadcasts a regular magazine/news programme and features interviews with high profile people living in Monaco. Most of the content is in French and there is a regular slot for the Italians. A programme in English and German is broadcast seven times a week. The English version – Headlines – is at the following times: Monday at 3.30pm, Tuesday at 1.30pm, Wednesday at 11.30pm, Thursday at 9.30am, Friday at 7.30am, Saturday at 11.30pm and Sunday at 9.30pm. To access the channel click on www.presse.gouv.mc and then the title “Monaco Info en Ligne”.
