Top Marques Monaco revs up

Alternatively fuelled cars take centre stage at the luxury and supercar show, Top Marques Monaco, which is on at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco from 24 to 27 April 2008. Lawrie Lewis, Chairman of Top Marques Monaco, was joined by Sir Phillip Green’s Jaguar, a Venturi electric car, a Lambourghini and a Rolls Royce for the press conference held yesterday to present the novelties being introduced this year. The exhibition is billed as the only supercar show to offer test drives (by invitation only) and this year a range of luxury products will also be on display. They include watches, state of the art luggage from the Henk Collection, and a set of custom wheels featuring 12,000 diamonds and 800 sapphires, a snip at 1 million US dollars, from Icelink.

Among the alternatively fuelled models will be a hydrogen-powered BMW which emits only water. Journalist Peter Nugent from Riviera Radio is all set to test drive the vehicle and has pledged to knock back a glass of the emissions at the end - probably with a tot of vodka thrown in!
