H.E. Ms Odile Remik-Adim, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Principality of Monaco hands over her letters of credence

In the late morning of Tuesday 15th April in the Prince’s Palace, the official ceremony took place in which H.E. Ms Odile Remik-Adim, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic handed over her letters of credence to the Principality of Monaco.

H.E. Ms Odile Remik-Adim was accompanied for the occasion by Ms Claudine Jaffré-Baron, Senior Advisor at the Embassy. After being welcomed to the Royal Courtyard of the Palace by the Company of Carabinieri guard of honour under the orders of Colonel Yannick Bersihand, Senior Commander of the Police Force, Ambassador Odile Remik-Adim was taken to the Hall of Mirrors by Colonel Luc Fringant, H.S.H. the Prince’s Chamberlain. H.E. Ms Odile Remik-Adim then handed over her letters of credence to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, who was accompanied by Mr René Novella, Secretary of State, Mr Georges Lisimachio, Head of H.S.H. the Prince’s Cabinet and H.E. Mr Jean Pastorelli, Minister plenipotentiary and Government Counsellor for External Relations. Following the ceremony, H.S.H. the Prince held a private audience with the Ambassador in the Family Drawing Room.

On 15th February 2006, a few months after the signing of the new Franco-Monegasque Convention in Paris, the French Consulate in Monaco was raised to the status of an Embassy. H.E. Mr Serge Telle then became the first ambassador appointed to Monaco. The arrival of H.E. Ms Odile Remik-Adim is testimony to the privileged relations Monaco and France wish to maintain and reinforces the friendly relationship that unites these two countries.

After his visit to the Elysée on 18th July last year, H.S.H. Prince Albert II will be welcoming Nicolas Sarkozy, President of the French Republic, to Monaco on 25th April 2008.
