President Nathan hosts Prince Albert of Monaco to dinner

 Prince Albert II of Monaco is in Singapore on a private visit and on Thursday evening he was hosted to a dinner at the Istana by President S R Nathan

While in Singapore, the prince will be receiving the “Champions of the Earth” prize, which is an award given by the United Nations Environment Programme.

The award recognises individuals from various parts of the world who have shown extraordinary leadership on environmental issues.

The prince, who will travel to other countries in the region before returning to Singapore for the ceremony on 22 April, is one of seven environmental achievers this year.

A Commemorative Stamp of the 75th Anniversary of the Exotic Garden creation

The Office of Stamps of the Principality will issue on the 2nd of May, a commemorative stamp at 0.50 euros entitled “75th Anniversary of the Exotic Garden creation” in Monaco. Its origin started in 1910 with the Prince Albert 1st, who obtained the “Observatory Land” in order to create a garden only dedicated to “succulent plants”. (more…)

“World Water Day”

The “World Water Day” will be celebrated on Thursday, 20th March on the theme of sanitation. The Principality of Monaco must inform about the about the necessity and above all the fragility of the water in the world particularly when 1.1 billion of people miss water or have no access at all and 2.6 billion have no correct sanitary installations to use it. Polar Ice at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco

For almost one year, the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco is welcoming an exhibition on the theme “Polar Ice for future generations” with the purpose the save the mistreated planet by appealing the future generations.
